Hazel Watson at the problem junction of West Street and High Street -she is working to find the best way forward for vehicles while protecting pedestrians.
Liberal Democrat County Councillor Hazel Watson has taken the lead in seeking a solution to the problems caused by the new traffic lights at Pump Corner - a scheme designed by our Tory-controlled County Council.
Hazel Watson has promoted the re-phasing of the lights to allow a greater time for traffic to pass from West Street to the High Street and South Street.
She has now proposed, following the public meeting at Pump Corner in November, that the lights at the end of West Street be hooded (withdrawn from use) for a trial period to obtain real evidence of their effect on traffic flow through the junction.
Hazel Watson has also been elected as Chair of the new County Council Task Group to develop potential solutions.
