Alice Humphreys led a successful campaign to keep maternity and children's services at Epsom hospital
Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate Alice Humphreys has warned that a Conservative victory at the General Election could spell trouble for the NHS. She has called on Sir Paul Beresford to disown comments made by the Conservative Euro MP for South East England Daniel Hannan in which he stated he 'wouldn't wish [the NHS] on anyone' and it was a '60-year mistake'.
Alice Humphreys added, "I and my Liberal Democrat colleagues have fought hard for all of our local hospitals and I consider Daniel Hannan's comments about the NHS an insult to all those who work day and night to provide top quality healthcare for everyone, regardless of income."
Alice concluded, "Despite David Cameron's claims that the NHS is safe in Conservative hands it is clear that leading members of his Party think differently. It is a pity that Sir Paul Beresford did not declare instant and unqualified support for the NHS following this self-publicising attack on the NHS by one of his colleagues who also claims to represent Mole Valley.
"Where does Sir Paul stand on this?"
