Despite our potholes, Surrey County Coincil is cutting the road maintenance budget
Both our Conservative-run Councils have recently announced yet more service cuts as part of their budget for next year. Incredibly, given the state of the County's roads, road maintenance is included. Surrey's axe also falls on respite care for families of disabled children. And adults needing care at home will see increased charges that will hit the least well-off.
Liberal Democrat Councillor Iain Murdoch said "The roads are in an appalling state. The recent winter weather has played a part, but essentially this is caused by inadequate maintenance and cheap temporary repairs over many years. The Conservative administration at County Hall must think again."
