2008 elections for Mole Valley DCThe Mole Valley District Council elections were held on May 1st, 2008. In Bookham South and The Holmwoods, existing Liberal Democrat councillors Anne Howarth and Michael Howard were re-elected. In Dorking North and Dorking South, the Liberal Democrats held the seats with Paul Elderton and Tim Loretto joining our Council Group as new councillors. In Leatherhead North, the Lib Dems captured the seat from the Conservatives; Bob Hedgeland joins his wife Penny and Bridget Lewis-Carr on the Council. However we failed to keep our small majority at Westcott and lost that seat. Overall therefore the council composition remains unchanged. The election night count was kept exciting to the last minute with a dramatically close result at Fetcham West. After a recount, Raj Haque - the Liberal Democrat candidate - failed by just six votes to overturn a previous majority of more than 400. Lib Dem policies for Mole Valley.
