Andrew grew up in Fetcham, attended local schools and went on to higher education, before starting his career on the railways.

After living in Leatherhead, he moved to Bookham, with his wife and young family in 2010.

Working as a Railway Signalling Engineer, he is regularly part of a team upgrading the railway infrastructure, and was involved in the recent remodelling, of London Bridge Station. He also enjoys spending time between rail projects, as a handyman working in the area.

He has been involved in a number of community projects, and has tackled issues such as abandoned vehicles, overgrown footpaths and had success in pursuing Surrey County Council, regarding the failed traffic sensors on Hylands Traffic Lights, and was able to get Clarion Housing to renew the communal lighting at Grove Corner Flats. He is currently campaigning to improve disabled access to Bookham Station.

He enjoys volunteering as Facilities Officer at South Bookham Space community centre, and takes part in litter picks around the village.

As a Councillor, he says "I would represent the community, and stand up for families caring for relatives. I would challenge the council to improve facilities and services". He has a strong interest in ensuring that Bookham and the beautiful countryside is protected in the Local Plan. He expresses concerns about our village High Street, and wants to provide solutions that will keep the shops open and would also push to increase the kerbside recycling of more plastics and cartons.
