Emma CussellI am delighted to have been selected to stand to represent Leatherhead North on Mole Valley Council.
I am very appreciative of the warm reception I have received from residents I have met, either on the doorstep or as I walk to and from my place of work in the ward.
Since my fiance and I moved to Leatherhead I have come to appreciate the town we have decided to make our home and its surrounding countryside. I am determined to campaign to ensure that the Transform Leatherhead project provides the impetus to secure its future as a thriving centre.
If you choose to elect me as your District Councillor, I will campaign for building the homes that local people need, prioritising homes for rent and for those unable to afford the high house prices in this area.
I will also campaign for the essential infrastructure to support new house-building to ensure we have enough good quality schools and medical facilities for the growing population and that the roads and transport facilities are improved to cope with increased demand.
I will campaign to protect the Green Belt from unnecessary development and to preserve local resources such as the allotments which may be under threat.
I will also work closely with Councillors Joe Crome and Bridget Kendrick to address issues raised by residents.
