Mole Valley District Council has updated its licensing policies to include additional safeguards in bars and clubs for anyone targeted in spiking and needle attacks. Bookham Councillor Elizabeth Daly, who took over as Chair of the Council's Licensing Committee last year, said:

"As a former nursery worker, I am very aware of the dangers in licensed premises. We are of course dependent on action by the police and government restrictions, but protecting young people will remain one of our top priorities."
