Communities first in Mole Valley
A major programme targeting services, the environment, and High Streets is underway. At the heart of its 2024-25 Annual Plan, Liberal Democrat-led Mole Valley District Council is implementing a major programme to improve services and community assets. Our communities depend on efficient public services and the District Council is working hard to make sure that local services are modernised, valued, accessible to all and provide value for money.
The Liberal Democrats recognise that climate change is an existential threat to our planet and to our way of life. That’s why the Council’s commitment to carbon neutrality by 2030 remains central to its climate change plan and includes the introduction of solar energy production at Dorking Halls. Plans to deliver improved ecology & biodiversity are key to the emerging Local Plan and grants for businesses, residents, and voluntary groups will promote decarbonisation.
Transform Leatherhead’s first Joint Venture consultation on the Bull Hill / Swan Centre project is underway with more to follow and phase 1 of the Riverside project is progressing.
Consultations on the new masterplans for Dorking and Bookham town centres will follow in October.
Council Leader Stephen Cooksey said, "I’m confident the full plan will be delivered by the end of this Council year and residents will see the many benefits it brings.”
