MOLEVALLEY
Liberal Democrat leader, Ed Davey, visited Mole Valley recently as he targets the Conservative's so-called 'Blue Wall' heartlands.
First stop was to the River Mole at Fetcham Splash where Ed and Lib Dem parliamentary candidate, Chris Coghlan, took water samples for testing. Thames Water continues to dump sewage in the river - 366 times during 2021 and for a staggering 3,233 hours!
Ed went on to visit the nearby Molebridge GP Practice, where he met staff and discussed local initiatives to tackle years of Tory neglect and indifference towards the NHS, its staff and patients.
Dr Hilary Floyd explained how integrating medical healthcare with other professionals and community groups would create a holistic local health service including community hubs, food banks, childcare, elderly care, fitness, social support, jobs and training.
Chris Coghlan said: "This would surely bring improvements in physical and mental health, reduce addictions and offer better local support for people with disabilities or long-term illness."
Before leaving, Ed found time to visit the team and clients at County Care Specialist Support in the heart of the Fetcham community which runs a kitchen garden, a public cafe and its own radio station.
