Lib Dem councillors Paul Potter, Paula Keay & Alcia Loach joined many residents of Box Hill in welcoming the Friday fish-and-chip van back to the village.

The service had been forced to stop earlier in the year after it was discovered that the designation of Boxhill Road as a "Prohibited Street" meant it could not be granted a trading licence.

Ward councillors Paul Potter & Paula Keay and County Councillor Hazel Watson led the pressure to accelerate the necessary consultation and policy change so that all streets across Mole Valley are now "Consent Streets".

Paula Keay said: "I was delighted to see so many residents enjoying the return of this important service. I would like to thank all those who answered our call to reply to the consultation. This really helped convince the Licensing Committee to change the street designations."
