It's a clear choice in Leatherhead
About Josie... A North Leatherhead resident for the last decade, it's all about the community for Josie. She volunteers with local charities and, if elected, will fight for a Fairer, Greener and more Caring Mole Valley. Improving health is what drives Josie - people's mental well-being as much as their physical health. A recent report that a woman in North Leatherhead has a life expectancy 9 years less than a woman in nearby Oxshott is truly shocking. Josie said, "That's the kind of thing 'levelling-up' should really be all about."
Community Hub Josie is one of the volunteers at the Leatherhead Community Hub. After almost two years of preparation, and backing from the Lib Dem-run District Council, the project is opening this Spring. The hub team want to create a space where everyone can connect, learn from and support each other.
Our Green Spaces Defending the much- loved Barnett Wood Lane allotment land from developers is one of the big gains in the Lib Dem Local Plan. The Tories tried to stop the plan but, without it, Leatherhead would face years of planning chaos and uncertainty.
Housing for Local People Thanks to the pandemic, housing waiting lists have been getting longer but it's the Lib Dems who are doing something about it. At Kingston House Gardens, a scheme which delivers 16 affordable rent homes and 12 shared ownership homes, has just got the green light.
Local Healthcare As a former healthcare professional, Josie is passionate that everyone should get the care they need, without having to suffer long waiting lists. She serves on the Patient Participation Group (PPG) at Ashlea Medical Practice and is determined that more investment goes into Leatherhead Hospital. |
