Molebridge GP surgery - SAFE FOR NOW
Today we received the wonderful news that the Molebridge Practice's application to close its Fetcham surgery has been withdrawn. Read the Statement.
We would like to thank everyone who joined the campaign to retain a GP surgery in Fetcham - whether signing our petition, going out in the rain to collect signatures, or responding to the survey/consultation. We leafleted every house, we gave interviews to the press and on radio, we asked questions at the County and District Councils, and we spoke to NHS representatives - all to make sure decision-makers understood the strength of feeling within the community.
Liberal Democrat councillors Raj Haque and Paul Kennedy presented 560 petition signatures to Surrey Downs CCG by the consultation deadline of 14 June. We carried on collecting signatures ahead of what we thought would be the decisive meeting of the Clinical Commissioning Group on 12 July.
There is still a lot to do to safeguard long-term GP services in Fetcham, particularly given the national GP shortage, but People Power has won the day, and we have made a great start.
Thanks again to everybody for all you have done.
