No post today, again
As the cost of a First-Class stamp rises to £1.25, there is no sign of any improvement to the appalling delivery service that residents in Dorking and wider Mole Valley have been subjected to for the last six months.
Despite a legal requirement to deliver six days a week, Royal Mail refuses to even discuss its failure with your elected councillors.
Mole Valley Cabinet member for Leisure, Cllr. Nick Wright said,
“The Council keeps trying to make contact with Royal Mail but management refuses to discuss the delivery problem. We have personally delivered letters to the local postmasters in Leatherhead and Dorking, complained to all national bodies established to hear complaints but with no response from anyone. We will keep trying. Royal Mail management must be obliged to explain why this has happened and when the service will be returned to an acceptable level.”
Lib Dem parliamentary candidate, Chris Coghlan said,
“This is now a national scandal which should be a priority for our local MPs to resolve but we continue to wait for action – another reason for you to elect a Lib Dem MP next time. I won’t take you for granted.”
