Pippbrook Mill Footpath
It's eighteen months since Mole Valley District Council sought to sell the footpath in front of Pippbrook Mill between Fairfield Drive and London Road, then backed down in the face of very significant opposition from residents, and the District and County Councils made a joint commitment to register the footpath on the Definitive Footpath Map.
But, eighteen months on from the Public Meeting where our Councils made this commitment, the Registration of the Footpath on the Definitive Map has not happened.
It is thus necessary for us to make a Section 31 (Highways Act 1980) claim to get this footpath registered.
Liberal Democrat County Councillor Hazel Watson has prepared the forms to make this claim but we need as much supporting evidence as possible to show that this footpath has been used by residents for the last twenty years as a footpath. This evidence needs to be provided on a formal "Public Right of Way User Evidence Form" which you can download and compete. You will need to mark the footpath on the attached map (making sure your marking of the path links Fairfield Drive to London Road) and to sign and date the map.
Once completed, please send the User Evidence Form to Hazel Watson at 27 Highacre, Dorking, Surrey RH4 3BF to attach to the Claim Form prior to its submission to the County Council.
