Sadly, as the BBC has reported, the River Mole has the highest number of unpermitted raw sewage spills in the country. Even worse, our Conservative MP voted against an amendment in parliament to force water companies to clean up their act.
Recycling is a positive step forward in so many ways. I was a Councillor from 1990 to 1998 before working abroad. On my return I did become a 'recycled' Councillor and have had the privilege of serving the residents of Dorking North since then. I am especially keen on leisure and tourism in our beautiful area.

She was previously a Senior Nurse Lecturer and was a member of Leeds City Council from 1979 to 1980. She has a long record of service in Mole Valley, having at various times been a member of all major Council committees and was Council Chairman in 2015 to 2016.
Mike Hebberd has been a Mole Valley resident for more than 16 years and loves living in this beautiful area. He works in the Civil Service and has a policing and prison service background. Mike is very community-minded with experience as a local school governor. He is active in fund-raising for several charities, including MIND and likes to "roll up his sleeves" for neighbourhood jobs such as litter picking.
I have written with Lib Dem MPs in Surrey to the Department for Education, stating how we have lost confidence in Surrey County Council and it's ability to deliver SEND services. We request the Secretary of State intervenes immediately.
