Elections will be held on 1st May 2025 to elect 81 new County Councillors across Surrey.

It's time for change

The Conservatives have controlled Surrey since 1997. The current Council is made up as follows:

  • 44 Conservative,
  • 16 Liberal Democrats,
  • 16 Residents' Associations/Independents,
  • 2 Labour,
  • 2 Green
  • 1 non-aligned independent. 

Lib Dems: The Clear Challengers

  • Seventy-two Lib Dem MPs elected across the UK
  • Six Lib Dem MPs elected in Surrey including Chris Coghlan in Dorking and Horley and Helen Maguire in Epsom & Ewell
  • Lib Dems are now the biggest third party for over 100 years
  • Lib Dems have the momentum to end decades of Tory control at Surrey County Council
