David Draper for Dorking North
Recycling is a positive step forward in so many ways. I was a Councillor from 1990 to 1998 before working abroad. On my return I did become a 'recycled' Councillor and have had the privilege of serving the residents of Dorking North since then. I am especially keen on leisure and tourism in our beautiful area.
Since the Liberal Democrats took control of the Council, I have enjoyed being Cabinet member for these areas, and managed to help develop a number of projects across Mole Valley. These include a new skate park in Leatherhead, and plans for a new playground in Fetcham. Within my Ward, I am helping to complete the acoustic fence project in Meadowbank, have opened a new Garden of Remembrance at Dorking cemetery, and am developing plans for a possible expansion of Dorking Halls.
I am also pleased that the Dorking BMX track will get a new lease of life and I have been working with a new group of volunteers who are ready to take over the running of this site in the near future.
As well as projects such as these, it is always good to see issues resolved for individual residents. Whether this is regarding planning permission, or ideas for our town, I am always pleased to discuss and work with you.
I look forward to continuing this work, on your behalf, and am very happy to hear from residents about any concerns or ideas you would like to discuss.
