Elizabeth Daly for Bookham South
What do you think people need from their local councillor? Is it someone who can listen to local people and understand their concerns? Is it someone who speaks up for Bookham in the council chamber? Is it someone who loves living here in Bookham, as I do, and wants to make our area the best it can be?
To me, these are some of the most important things a local councillor can do.
Your voice matters, and I want to make sure it won't be ignored.
I want to keep working with my fellow Liberal Democrat Councillors Nancy Goodacre and Roger Adams to make sure you get what you expect from our District Council. During the pandemic I was Mole Valley's cabinet member for wellbeing, responsible for helping homeless people find somewhere safe to live and helping local businesses keep their customers safe. So I know how hard it's been for many of you.
We are delivering a fairer, greener and more caring Council. Don't let the Conservatives take that away.
The Liberal Democrats have worked hard to make Bookham a better place to live and work, despite Tory cuts and closures. We've acted on residents' concerns about the draft Local Plan we inherited from the Conservatives, removing 20 Green Belt sites and demanding better infrastructure from Surrey County Council. We've declared a climate emergency, backed local businesses and introduced air quality monitoring in the High Street. Don't risk letting in more Tories in Bookham South. Vote Lib Dem this May to keep the Council working for you.
